Privacy Statement

User Accounts

To create new content, or contribute to existing ones, you are required to register an account with an email address(es) and other personal information. We will not display, share, or sell your email address(es), or other personally identifiable information (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personally_identifiable_information for examples) to others; non-identifiable information, such as gender, may be shared. Your email address may be used by iNetSelf to contact you for verification or support purposes, or notify you of updates you subscribe to. Personally identifiable information is visible to iNetSelf administrators, Mollom (anti-spam service), and law enforcement.

Non-Account Forms and Content

By posting content, you accept that your content and other personal details about you will be analyzed and stored for anti-spam and quality monitoring purposes, in accordance with Mollom's privacy policy: http://mollom.com/web-service-privacy-policy.

iNetSelf content is hierarchical in nature, and access restrictions are controlled at the root level. Only the author of the root has this control. Unless you are the author of the root content, please be aware that any information that you submit through content forms, including personally identifiable information, may be publicly displayed on content pages at http://inetself.com/, or on websites not within our control. If you are unsure of the privacy settings for the root content and don’t want others to see such information, then don’t submit it.

As the editor of root content, you may establish a range of access restrictions to your material. The initial settings for individual content may allow outside search engines, indexes and third party sites to scan each content, create hyperlinks to individual content or distribute it further via feeds. If you change these settings, there is no guarantee that outside search engines will omit your content from its searches. Please check your default settings to discern the level of access the public has to your individual content.

If you contribute content, such as discussion comments, to any existing content, your contribution may be publicly displayed including personally identifiable information. Display of visitor content is determined by the discretion of the individual root content editors.

Each time you update your individual content, it may also send pings or feeds to sites that index or track newly updated content. These sites may publicly display a hyperlink to your content and the time that you updated it. Depending on root content access restrictions, your content may be published in XML feeds and email notifications, and content from or links to your content may be publicly displayed on third party sites.

IP Addresses and Referrers

We will not display, share, or sell the IP addresses of visitors and contributors to individual content hosted at http://inetself.com/.

We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our servers, to tailor site content and to format the site and software to user needs, and to generate aggregate statistical reports. We may use aggregate visitor data to prepare publicly displayed reports regarding the traffic on individual content, site popularity rankings, and referrers that visitors use to access individual content.

Cookies

If you visit our web site, we may use session cookies while your browser is open, or while you are logged into our site. To facilitate our registration and login functions, we may use cookies to recognize you when you return to our website or to individual content hosted our site. If you do not logout of your account, these cookies allow us to keep track of your username and password, so that you do not have to resubmit the information to log into your account. Always remember to log out of your site or account so that the computer’s other users cannot access your account.

Disclosure of Information to iNetSelf and to Law Enforcement

Available log records, and all data stored on our servers may be accessed by our system administrators. The system administrators may produce these records and data to the Administrative Board, upon request or suspected violation of our terms of use. It is iNetSelf’s policy to cooperate with law enforcement officials in the detection, investigation, and prosecution of unlawful activity. If we receive a warrant or subpoena for user information, we may disclose requested records to law enforcement authorities or outside parties seeking information through the legal process.
